The best bit is yet to come.

Welcome
You might be here because you've been following BestBitYet on Instagram, found me through Substack, or read one of my articles. Either way, welcome.
BestBitYet exists to help women figure out how to make midlife and beyond genuinely the best bit yet. If you're here, it's probably because you're already asking that question — and it can feel like a lonely thing to be wondering about.
The time is now
You're not alone in this, and the numbers back that up.
- Women over 50 are now the fastest-growing group in the UK workforce.
- Almost a third of women aged 40–65 say they're considering leaving their job over menopause symptoms alone; 7% already have.
- Women aged 45–60 are seven times more likely than men the same age to have left work, or thought about it, to care for children or grandchildren.
There's a real shift happening: midlife women stepping back from careers they've spent decades building, or finding themselves out of work altogether as industries and job markets change around them. It can be an unsettling, sometimes frightening time. But there's real support and real information out there — and part of what BestBitYet does is shine a light on it.
